Description

PROMONT project focuses on Adrion rural areas with mountain relief, characterised by unique  biodiversity threatened by the unruled overexploitation of resources, by the unsustainable economic activities and by the seasonal mass-tourism that have led to pollution and overall loss of biodiversity.

The overall objective is to protect and preserve the fragile and rich ecosystems of the Adriatic Ionian mountains  by promoting actions for environmental regeneration involving and empowering local communities and stakeholders.

The project wants to foster a positive change of mindset about the human presence and its relation with mountain biodiversity: biodiversity and local communities will benefit from the success of the actions implemented by PROMONT, in the short and in the long term.
