The XVIII General Assembly of the Adriatic Ionian Euroregion was successfully held on-line on 26 October 2021. The President Nikola Dobroslavic and the Secretary General Francesco Cocco led the Assembly which was attended by a good number of representatives of the AIE Member regions.
The occasion was useful to share experiences and information as well as to set the agenda for an ambitious future of the Association.
The Assembly approved different documents such as the Activity Report 2020, the Report on the activities and the organization of the General Secretariat, the 2020 financial statement and the annual membership fees 2022.
The Assembly discussed also on the proposal of amendments to the AIE Statute, taking different decisions such as the decision to transfer the registered head office from Pula to Dubrovnik, the replacement of the Thematic Commissions with Thematic Working Groups and the establishment of the figure of the Auditor. It was also set as operational headquarters the Secretariat of the AIE in Campobasso – Italy. All the amendments to the AIE statute were approved unanimously by the General Assembly.
The General Assembly was followed by two thematic side events organised with the support of the AI-NURECC PLUS Initiative. An High-Level Conference on Circular Economy and a back-to-back event dedicated to Youth Organisations of the 9 EUSAIR countries, as second Adriatic Ionian Youth Organisations Forum.
