Thematic session of Adriatic-Ionian Euroregion on EU maritime strategy for Adriatic and Ionian Seas as a strand of the Adriatic-Ionian macro-regional strategy for Adriatic-Ionian territories. Bologna, March 6th and 7th

The launch of a Maritime strategy for Adriatic and Ionian territories has been welcomed by Adriatic Ionian Euroregion (AIE) Members, and raised many expectations for a new era of multi-level collaboration between European institutions and local and regional authorities, in order to grant to the coming wider Adriatic-Ionian macroregional strategy more efficacy/efficiency through an adequate territorial dimension.

On March 6th and 7th, Emilia-Romagna Region, as member of Adriatic-Ionian Euroregion, will organise in Bologna an AIE thematic sessions on maritime strategy. The events aim at leading the Adriatic-Ionian local and regional level of government to debate with European institutions and to adopt a common political position on the EU Maritime strategy for Adriatic and Ionian Seas, one of the crucial EU thematic policies for the Adriatic-Ionian macro-area.

The outputs of the debate between AIE Members and European Commission – DG MARE will allow decision takers to take account of the common territorial needs and challenges in the strategy design.
