On 18 and 19 June, the staff of the Secretariat will be attending the Kick-off Meeting of the E-CITIJENS project and the Cross-border Conference “Emergency Response Decision Support System”.

E-CITIJENS – an abbreviation for “Civil Protection Emergency DSS based on CITIzen Journalism to ENhance Safety of the Adriatic Basin” – is a territorial cooperation project financed by the 2014-2020 Interreg V-A Italy-Croatia CBC Programme. With a total budget of € 2.846.100,00 and a duration of 30 months, its objective is to increase security in the cross-border area by means of a better management of natural and man-made disasters. To this end, the project intends to develop an innovative monitoring system, based on the integration of heterogeneous data, including alerts broadcasted by both institutional sources and information shared by citizens on online social networks.

Coordinated by the Molise Region, the E-CITIJENS project involves 9 partners from the cooperation area: the Split and Dalmatia County, the Veneto Region, the  University of Split, the EEIG Eurelations, the University of Bologna, the Pescara Municipality, the Zadar County Rural Development Agency, the Region of Istria. Within this project, the AIE is in charge of  WP2 Communication and will take care of disseminating projects results across the Adriatic Ionian area and the EU.
