In the first week of July, the Adriatic Ionian Euroregion actively participated in a meeting held in Marseille, organized by the Joint Secretariat of the Interreg EURO-MED Programme. The meeting gathered all eight Governance projects of the four Programme Missions.

Andrea Di Girolamo from the AIE Secretariat attended the meeting as the project officer of the Community4Tourism project, one of the two governance projects involving the Adriatic Ionian Euroregion. He also met with the lead partner of Dialogue4Innovation, the other governance project in which AIE is a partner.

The two-day meeting was fruitful in terms of joint work and collaboration. Participants had the opportunity to share the challenges faced by their projects across missions and explore many opportunities to join forces in building a successful new edition of the MED Academy, among other initiatives.

In particular, the Community4Tourism project demonstrated to the participants how it is engaging the community of 10 thematic projects related to tourism sustainability in the Med region, mainly through working groups and four Mediterranean Clusters. AIE participated in discussions on various topics such as the future edition of the MED Academy, thematic projects peer-review, stakeholder mapping and engagement, and more.

The Community4Tourism and Dialogue4Innovation partnerships also gathered internally to plan the upcoming activities for 2024. AIE will ensure to call for contributions within the network and facilitate the participation of AIE members.
